Caring for Sea Turtles
Djunbunji Land and Sea Rangers participate in a wide range of sea turtle conservation activities, including -
- Managing land and sea country for healthy habitats and sea turtles
- Regular marine debris clean up work and collaboration with Tangaroa Blue and GhostNets Australia
- Regular work with Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre at Fitzroy Island
- Training and emergency response contact for the 1300 ANIMAL marine strandings and turtle rescue network
- Ranger training and participation at Mon Repos Turtle Rookery with EHP and QPWS
- Collaborative work with the Australian Crime Commission - Special Wildlife Crime Taskforce (Turtle and Dugong)
- Participation and presentation at the Sea Turtle Health and Rehabilitation Workshop 2015
